Robin Henry Ford .....born to Richard Humble Ford and Mary Ford in November of 1958 at Sand Hutton. Sadly after a short illness his father Richard died in June of 1958, 6 months before Robin was born. Leaving Mary Ford a widow with 4 small children and a busy farm to run.
At the age of 4, Robin and his family moved to Rose View Everingham to start a new life. From there Robin and his siblings, Melvyn, Malcolm and May attended the local primary school at Melbourne.
At the age of 11 Robin then went on to attend Woldgate School (now Woldgate College) where he proved to be a bright student enjoying both the academic part of the curriculum as well as the sports options on offer, gaining a place on the schools basket ball team.

Robin went on to pass 8 O levels and stayed on into the sixth form where he attained a further A level in Pure Mathematics.
Coming from a farming background Robin decided to pursue this interest and enrolled on a OND in agriculture course at Bishop Burton College. From there he decided to peruse Pig Management and in 1979 was employed by Parkes & Simpson at Kilwick Percy Pocklington. Moving further up the career ladder he then took a management position working for J Stringer & Sons at Nunburnholme, where he stayed for 15 years. During this time he managed to get married have 2 children (Mark and Emma), get divorced.. find a new partner (me) and have yet another child (William).

Pig management continued to be a love of Robins and in 1997 he moved to Melbourne where he was employed by TA & BJ Stephenson.
Despite his love of farm work Robin always had a desire to go out on his own and at one point looked into buying his own farm, but sadly due to the outbreak of foot and mouth and a massive decline in the pig industry in this area this dream was never realised. The idea of being self employed never left, so when the opportunity arose he grabbed it with both hands and enrolled on a City & Guilds plumbing course in 2005. Lynwood Plumbing was then born named after the house we now live in in Pocklington.

Pictured to the right is May, the oldest of the Ford children. May after doing a little modelling decided to settle down and married Richard Dove. Since being married in 1971 they have had 2 children and still live on the same family farm at Bielby. Their eldest son also called Richard lives with his wife and 3 children also on the farm property in a house they rebuilt from a derelict state before getting married.

Next in line is Malcolm who after working out in America for a while decided to stay there when he met Lynda. They moved out to Alaska and had 2 children and lived there happily for many years, until work forced a move to New York where they currently live out in the suburbs.
Last of the Ford children is Melvyn who also went into the pig industry. He married Mandy and they had 2 boys Richard and Adam. Buying there own farm in Bielby in the late 1980s proved a profitable move for many years until a collapse in pig prices and the pig industry in general forced them to sell up. The marriage ended not long after that and Melvyn currently still in pig farming works for another employer as a pig farm manager.
